OPS Bersepadu Raya Helmet Poster

Helmet Poster1. OPS Bersepadu Hari Raya Puasa 2009 is just starting from 13 September to 27 September. The Raya celebration is also around the corner and like many other years before, this is the time where people are prone to the possibility of involving in an accident.

2. Please do not ever think that you will always be safe, especially when you are riding a motorcycle. Based on Malaysia road accident statistics, from approximately 6800 fatalities, almost half are coming from motorcyclists. So, please wear your helmet and be safe to everybody. This is a poster made by Jabatan Keselamatan Jalan Raya (JKJR) Malaysia. Thanks to them for their road safety campaign efforts.

Treasure Hunt Crash

1. I had written a post entitled "Janitor on road is indeed a Hazard" that might relate to my current post today. Road janitor is undeniably among the most dangerous and risky job in Malaysia. While they are usually not practicing proper safety protection, they are working recklessly on the side of the road. My fear has become true. Below is the story that emailed to me.

2. The accident was occured in 2006 at Melaka near Malim exit. A speeding treasure hunt car (Proton Wira) hit a road worker that was doing some painting work on the fence divider. Then the car lost control and hit another car (Proton Iswara) from the opposite direction. The road worker died on the spot. Poor guy. It is not like his 100% mistake though. Sigh.

Proton Wira Horror Burnt Accident

1. The crash occured at Kajang, Malaysia and classified as single-vehicle accident. Proton Wira was believed to be speeding before hitting the middle barrier, and burnt. One occupant (rear passenger) was trapped and burned to death, while four others managed to escape the vehicle.

2. I'm not sure whether during the accident, the road surface was wet or not. If yes, it could be the reason but from the photos, it was unlikely the road was wet. Below are the photos taken by a passerby on the scene of the accident. Really scary.
